How to play
- Press an arrow key and every tile slides in that direction.
- When two tiles with the same number collide while sliding, they merge into one tile worth double.
- A new tile (2 or 4) appears in a random empty cell after every move.
- The game ends once there's no empty cell left and no adjacent tiles can merge.
How is the score calculated?
Every time tiles merge, the resulting value is added to your score. Your best score is saved in your browser and stays there for your next visit.
Frequently Asked Questions
If three matching tiles are in a row, do they all merge at once?
No. Each tile can only merge once per move. For example, if 2, 2, 2, 2 are lined up, they merge into 4, 4 β and those two don't merge again in the same move.
Where is my score saved?
It isn't sent to a server β it's only stored in this browser's local storage (localStorage). Your best score won't carry over to a different device or browser.
