Where do these rates come from?
This tool uses public data from ExchangeRate-API, a reference rate updated once a day. Actual bank or exchange-counter buy/sell rates include each institution's fee (spread), so they may differ from the reference rate shown here.
How to use it
- Enter an amount and choose the "from" and "to" currencies β the result updates instantly.
- Click the β button to swap the two currencies.
- Rate data is cached in your browser for faster loading on repeat visits, and automatically refreshes after 6 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I actually get this amount when I exchange money?
No. This calculator shows the interbank reference rate (the mid-market rate). Actual banks, exchange counters, and card issuers apply a buy/sell rate with a markup added or subtracted, so the amount you actually receive may be less (when exchanging cash) or more (when sending money) than what's shown here. Use this as a reference rate only.
How often do exchange rates change?
The data this tool uses is updated once a day. That's different from the real-time, second-by-second rates used in bank dealing rooms β treat it as a daily reference rate.
